GEMS ON MY PLATE
2022



Gems on My Plate was created to be a prototype for material testing.

Constructed with foam and wood, the weight of the piece is lesser than it may look. Inspired by the Indian thali and the Indian urinal, I was excited to create something that pertained to the doing of the most essential tasks. I was interested in how the body’s scale would change if it were to eat off of this jaggery-filled ‘plate’ or would it alter to become a place a excretion.

This project became imperative to my future projects that involved more research + making.
